This certification by an independent registrar, attests that the structure is a “green” project based on design and construction practices, while reducing negative environmental impact and improving occupant health and well-being.

CO2LLABORATE® Software Program
The World Resources Company CO2LLABORATE® software program is an application for quantifying the net reduction of carbon emissions produced between two (2) or more industrial processes. Specifically, CO2LLABORATE® software allows for the extrapolation of carbon emissions associated with the recycling process of metal-bearing manufacturing residues to produce finished metal(s) as compared to that of the carbon emissions associated with a process method to produce a like-quantity of finished metals from mined ores. The quantifiable units of carbon emission reduction are referred to as “carbon credits”, a term generically defined. Carbon credits may be used to off-set carbon emissions from other process sources or commercially traded in the industrial marketplace.

CO2LLABORATE® is a registered trademark of World Resources Company.
WRC was the first company in the United Stated to be admitted into the Safety and Health Achievement recognition Program (SHARP) sponsored by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The SHARP Certificate of Recognition was awarded to WRC by the Honorable Tim Holden, Congressman from Pennsylvania, commending WRC for its exemplary safety and health management system.
WRC is a charter member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Environmental Achievement Track provided in recognition of its commitment to sound environmental management, continuous improvement, public outreach and sustained environmental compliance. Through the Achievement Track membership, EPA recognizes the voluntary commitment and dedication of WRC, putting our facility among the Nation’s top performers in contributing to improving our country’s environmental health. Members include major corporations, small businesses, and public facilities that are on a path of continued environmental excellence.

WRC became a member of the U.S. EPA’s Green Power Partnership in recognition of the purchase of renewable wind energy that satisfies 100% of the electrical needs for the recycling facilities in Pennsylvania and Arizona. WRC’s two US facilities are also the first EPA permitted Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) recycling facilities to be 100% wind powered. By switching to 100% renewable energy, WRC is preventing the release of approximately 3,000 metric tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, annually. Subsequently, WRC was awarded membership to the EPA’s 2008 Green Power Leadership Club based on its demonstrated exemplary environmental leadership.
World Resources Company (WRC) was awarded a Senatorial Citation by the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on November 17, 1998, recognizing that the Company’s Pottsville Recycling Facility as the first facility of its kind in North America to achieve ISO 14001 certification.
This certification confirms (by independent auditing) that WRC’s handling and processing of environmentally sensitive materials meet internationally recognized standards of performance.
The award was presented to Mr. Peter T. Halpin, CEO by The late Senator James J. Rhoades.
